Rachel Cassano
Rachel (Dancer) is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. While attending UC she danced with the nationally ranked UC dance team and for the Jungle Kittens (Cincinnati Arena Football Dance Team.) After moving to Indianapolis to pursue a career in journalism at a local newspaper, she was the choreographer and dance coordinator of the semi-pro Indianapolis Tornados Dance Team (NAFL). Rachel has been an instructor in hip-hop and musical theatre as well as teaching Urban Jamm (hip-hop aerobics) for LA Fitness. Her love of fitness brought her back to Ohio, where she now is the Communication Coordinator at Elite Fitness Systems. She is excited to join Xclaim for her first season and can't wait to inspire others through dance.
David Christopher Dillow
David (Dancer) A.K.A “DILLZ”, is an accomplished international dancer, choreographer and fashion designer (Dillz Fashion). He holds a BFA in Dance Performance from the University of the Arts Philadelphia. His love of dance began in the show choir at Teays Valley HS in Ashville, OH. Dillow has worked with top recording artists and dance companies across the U.S.A, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean Islands. Notable experiences include productions for Addidas, Mercedes, Samsung, F.I.V.E. Productions, Momix, Vibe Dance Company, Garden State Dance Festival and Brian Sanders JUNK. Upon returning to Ohio David founded Vitality Energy Productions. He is excited to join Xclaim for his first season and looks forward to their success!
Franklin L. Grace, III
Franklin (Dancer) is a native of Columbus, Ohio who after graduating from Independence High School received his B.A. in Communication and Dance from Denison University. He later attended Miami University to receive his Master’s in Architecture. At both Denison and Miami, Franklin performed and choreographed numerous productions, including regional Step competitions. As a Fulbright grant recipient, Franklin continued his research in Korea on the connection of dance, architecture, and space and how the concepts of what can be termed Hip Hopchitecture can create new tools for design. He has worked with Sandy Mathern-Smith, Gill Wright-Miller, Dana Reitz, Bebe Miller, Lana Kay-Rosenberg, Ronit Eisenbach, Karen Nelson, Zelma Badu-Young, and recently Adam Chu on the movie Step Up among others.
Andrea Lotzar
Andrea (Dancer), originally from Rochester, New York, is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University with a BA in Criminology and a minor in dance. She began her training in Rochester at Spins Dance Studio. There, she competed and performed under the direction of former Miss New York, Cheryl Flanagan. She was also choreographer's assistant and a performer for four years in East Rochester's annual charity show, "Sing Out". Andrea has also used her dance experience through teaching tap, jazz, and ballet and coaching dance and cheer camps. Andrea loves performing and is so happy to be back for her second season with Xclaim!
Frederick Ocansey
Frederick (Dancer) is from Columbus, Ohio. He is a recent graduate of Horizon Science Academy. He will begin studies at Wright State University in the fall of 2010 studying Biology and Dance. Frederick began his formal dance training in January ‘09 at Charisma Centre for the Arts where he is a talent scholarship recipient. During high school he choreographed and led a hip-hop based dance group of fellow students. He is an active member of his church youth group and a community volunteer. During the 2009-2010 season Frederick danced with Xclaim as a trainee. He is enthusiastic to be dancing again with Xclaim for his second season.
Ruth Keysor
Ruth (Dance Trainee) is a Columbus native. She is currently a junior honors student at St. Francis DeSales High School. Ruth began her dance training at Charisma Centre for the Arts in 2000 where she studies jazz, ballet, modern, pointe, and tumbling. She has also studied under notable instructors, choreographers, and masters including: Mariah Layne French, Stephanie Hall, Daryse Osborne, Yvonne Peters, Freddie Moore, Jeff Lewis, and Aaron Chen. She danced as a junior company Member at Exaltation for 2 years and has participated in many Dance productions and community outreach events with Christian Assembly Church. Following high school she plans to further her career in dance through collegiate study. This is Ruth's first season dancing with Xclaim as a trainee.
Amy Schmidt
Amy (Video Reproduction Technician/ Advocate) recently completed her Master of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University in dance with a concentration in directing from Labanotation score. At OSU, Amy spent some time
concentrating on the study of Dance Videography. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts from OSU in Theatre with Distinction. She has been an instructor at Charisma Centre for the
Arts since 2003. Amy is blissfully married to Matthew Schmidt and loves to walk their Husky-mix dog Kavik. Her goals are making little Schmidts, nurturing her students, directing
movement in theatre, notating dance, training a production management team, and spreading the love of God through hugs.
